The Lenten days of 2018 have been a true blessing for our Church. We have had everyday Lenten Day service every morning at 6:30am this lenten season. Each day the service was brought to you by one Area Fellowship initially and later it has been a combination of 2 area fellowships. While in midst of the lenten day worship, we had a special musical worship on Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday led by our very own Church Musical Choir. The special rendering of worship songs included a full instrument ensemble under the guidance of our able Choir Master and our Church member, who was able to bring in a group of professional musicians for the wonderful music encompassing an hour. The service itself was unique in that it didn't comprise the usual sermon but a poem that was read out through the rendering of the background music.
Palm Sunday procession on 25th of March 2018 by members of our congregation started at around 7:00am going around the area of the Church into the neighborhood behind. There was quite a huge participation with Palm leaves in their hands and singing "Hosanna". The kids were in full vigor and attendance during the procession carrying the Palm Leaves. The procession started and ended back to the Church at 8:15am. While this was in progress, the Choir was setting themselves up for the Palm Sunday Musical, setting up the stage and the instrumentalists prepping up last minute touches to their instruments.
The Passion song service by our Church choir under the command of choir master Mr. Livingston Eliazer and Mr. Yensone Bagyanathan with Chennai string orchestra held on 25th of March 2018, the Palm Sunday. It was a powerful rendering that took the entire congregation to the edge of their seats into a spiritual musical journey with the magic of their voices along with the accompanying instruments. It was an hour of rendering that left everyone spellbound. The whole program was broadcast live and also recorded. There were however a lot of preparations towards this event and a preview of the same can be seen below. The support from the congregation has been tremendous towards the musical and we hope to sustain this for events to come.
